My entire adult life has centered around oaths.

As an Army Ranger, I took an oath vowing to never embarrass my country. That meant leading by example and being the first to jump out of the plane — every single time.

When I became a lawyer, I promised to find the truth and uphold our sacred commitment to equal protection under the law.

And there’s the oath I took as your lawmaker: To uphold our Constitution and serve Coloradans in office with honor and integrity.

We could have never imagined the challenges we’d have to face in the past four years — including standing up to Donald Trump to defend our democracy. But as long as I have the honor of serving in Congress, I promise I will be there for you. No matter what.

We’re just getting started. I promise to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Coloradans as we defend our rights and freedoms. My first mid-month deadline of the general election is tonight: will you chip in to help me carry our progress forward?
