The food system in our country is broken. The Covid-19 pandemic and Russian invasion of Ukraine has shown us that we can’t rely on corporate monopolies to deliver our food — we need to grow it right here in Wisconsin.

Food security is national security. We need a resilient, diversified local food economy that is able to deal with climate change and allow access to healthier food for all. Our current broken system is benefitting neither farmers, consumers, nor our planet and is a national security risk.

That’s why I’m so proud of our food sovereignty plan that wrestles the power away from the corporate monopolies in Big Ag and returns it to Wisconsin farmers and dairy producers.

If you support my progressive vision for food sovereignty in Wisconsin, please make a $10 contribution to my campaign, and check out what The Cap Times had to say about my plan below! [[link removed]]

John,

Here at Nelson HQ, we know that Tom’s bold, progressive vision for Wisconsin is unmatched in this race.

It’s always nice, though, to see Tom get some recognition for his food sovereignty plan, which would give power to the Wisconsin Farmers Union instead of Big Ag , and calls for a new approach to dairy pricing and mandatory country-of-origin labeling, so Wisconsinites know where their food is coming from — and can truly buy local.

“Nelson’s plan is comprehensive. More importantly, it recognizes the need for the bold approaches that are required in order to challenge corporate power.”

— The Cap Times

Tom is the candidate in this race who will stand up for Wisconsinites by taking on corporate power . That means breaking up Big Ag monopolies, and standing on the side of Wisconsin workers — not the corporate interests Ron Johnson is bought and paid for by.

Tom has the vision and the plan to win — and he’s beating Ron Johnson in a head-to-head poll. Will you rush a contribution of $10 today to help Tom retire Ron once and for all? [[link removed]]

Fifth-generation Wisconsinite and Lutheran pastor son Tom Nelson works overtime, while raising his family, to defend hard-working families in the fight against corporate politicians and Foxconn-like special interests. As your U.S. senator, he’ll relentlessly fight a corrupt system in DC to promote Main Street solutions to our rigged economy and the existential threat of climate change. Tom has won six elections in a Trump county because he gets things done, including saving 300 union jobs at a hometown paper mill that was going to be shut down.
