To understand what’s at stake in this election, we only have to look at what has happened in the last few weeks, in states all over the country.

Republican attorneys general in states like Ohio and Mississippi have successfully enacted extreme anti-abortion laws, banning most abortions even in cases of rape or incest. Abortion is now largely illegal in nine states, with others set to follow suit.

But here in California, we’re protecting and expanding the rights we hold dear, including the right to reproductive care. Rob has pledged the full force of the law and the Department of Justice to uphold California’s laws protecting reproductive freedom, including the right to safe and legal abortion.

We cannot afford to elect an attorney general who will do anything less – and we can’t count on Republican Nathan Hochman. Please, rush $5 to Rob Bonta’s campaign right now to protect abortion access in California.

In spite of the Supreme Court’s devastating decision overturning Roe v. Wade and jeopardizing abortion access, California remains a haven in its support for reproductive care and right to an abortion.

But as we’ve seen in other states, that can change. And with national Republicans eyeing this race – and an opponent who won’t commit to doing what it takes to protect reproductive rights – we can’t afford to waste a minute if we’re going to safeguard our rights.
