John,

Orange County is no stranger to being a battleground for House control.

The 2022 midterm will be no different.

Politico just unveiled their 2022 House forecast and has listed CA-45 as a TOSS UP. This rating update is in large part credited to the fact that Republican incumbent Michelle Steel is facing “stiff competition” from Democrat and Navy Veteran Jay Chen.

CA-45 is a rare opportunity to both expand the Democrats’ House majority and defeat an anti-choice extremist. Now that we are in the General Election, we need to help Jay’s on-the-ground team turn out as many Democrats as possible and get his message out across the district.

In light of this news from Politico, we're humbly asking you to make your first $3, $10, or even $25 donation today. Please know that we wouldn’t be asking again if this wasn’t critical to Jay's campaign.

Remember, voters in the newly-drawn CA-45 rejected Donald Trump by a significant 6-point margin back in 2020.

Despite that, Michelle Steel’s voting record has been indistinguishable from extremists like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert – on reproductive rights, gun safety, price gouging, and more.

We have momentum and a real shot at ending Steel’s brand of extremism in Orange County. But it’s going to take a strong grassroots operation to flip this seat from red to blue. We can’t do it without you.

Thanks for your support,

Team Jay
