$150,000 mid-month goal and why hitting it matters so much to our

When Lucas told the political class he was planning to run for Missouri’s
open U.S. Senate seat the right way, without a cent from corporate PACs —
they laughed. They thought running a competitive grassroots campaign was
impossible.

But over the last year, we’ve proved them dead wrong. From landing major
national profiles in Politico and the Washington Post to putting this race
in the margin-of-error with the GOP frontrunner, we’ve built one of the
strongest grassroots campaigns in the entire country.

Now, every corrupt GOP insider and Washington politician watching our race
has realized that their broken status quo is in trouble — and they’ve
launched an all-out war to protect it.

After Lucas had effectively cleared the primary field, a billionaire
heiress announced she was running as a Democrat hours before the deadline
to put her name on the ballot. She’s already dumped more than a million
dollars into TV ads for her campaign — and over the coming weeks, she’ll
spend even more to buy the Democratic nomination.

Then, a GOP mega-lawyer who clerked for Clarence Thomas launched his
campaign as an “independent” — and the Super PAC backing him announced it
would spend $20 MILLION over the coming weeks on TV ads and mailers.

July has already been our most expensive month yet. We’re putting ads on
TV, contacting voters across the state, and traveling all over Missouri.
So while shady Super PACs, criminal elites, and billionaires spend
millions over the coming weeks to buy this race, our grassroots campaign
REALLY can’t afford to take our foot off the gas.

Falling short now could have a dramatic impact on the outcome of this
election. We have to keep reaching undecided voters with Lucas’ bold
message — and with just over two weeks until the primary, we’re running
out of time.
