In this week's roundup: Supporting our veterans, fully funding our military, and talking agriculture in Congress. Dear Friend, In this week's roundup: Supporting our veterans, fully funding our military, and talking agriculture in Congress. That and more -- remember to follow my Facebook page by clicking here to stay up-to-date throughout the week! PROVIDING OUR VETERANS WITH THE HEALTHCARE AND BENEFITS THEY DESERVE On Wednesday, I voted for the Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring Our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act. This legislation provides veterans who served overseas and were exposed to burn pits and toxic hazards like radiation and Agent Orange, with the quality healthcare and benefits they deserve. A few weeks ago, I also voted for the Restoring Hope for Mental Health and Well-Being Act of 2022, which included an amendment I sponsored that requires the Behavioral Health Crisis Coordinating Office – whose creation is authorized as part of this comprehensive package – to include the Veterans Crisis Line as an entity to provide rapid, post-crisis follow-up care to veterans who need it. Our veterans are heroes, and I will always stand with them and their families. Feenstra Votes to Provide Veterans Exposed to Toxic... Last night, U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) voted for, and the U.S. House of Representatives passed, the Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson Honoring Our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act. We also talked about my efforts to protect the RFS and let Iowa families fill up their tanks with cheaper, cleaner E-15 all year long. SPEAKING TO THE IOWA CORN GROWERS ASSOCIATION It's always good to have the Iowa Corn Growers in my office to discuss priorities important to our corn farmers and ethanol producers. We talked about the 2023 Farm Bill, greater ethanol production in Iowa, and my work to secure year-round E-15 at gas pumps across Iowa and nationwide. MY VOTE TO FULLY FUND OUR MILITARY AND GIVE OUR TROOPS A PAY RAISE On Thursday night, I voted for the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2023, which included two pieces of legislation that I introduced this Congress – the Weather Innovation for the Next Generation (WING) Act and the Biofuel Cell Research Act. These two bills will help improve weather radar accuracy and promote the use of biofuels in emerging fuel cell technologies to generate electricity and power vehicle engines in a cheaper and cleaner manner. While our globe becomes increasingly unstable, it is critical that we fully fund our military and provide our troops with the resources and pay that they need to protect our country from foreign threats. China and Russia will stop at nothing to usurp our position as the world’s strongest economic and military superpower. For the sake of our national security and economic vitality, we can never let that happen. Feenstra Supports Annual National Defense Authorization... As the second largest soybean producing state, Iowa soybean farmers are leading the way to lower fuel prices through biodiesel production and feed the world. INFLATION REACHES 9.1%! 9.1% inflation - which Democrats called transitory just months ago - is crushing family budgets and making every dollar earned worth much less. This is the sad consequence of wasteful spending that has fueled the flames of runaway inflation. I will continue to oppose pork-barrel spending and higher taxes that negatively impact our economy and hurt our families. Inflation surges 9.1% in June, accelerating more than... Inflation accelerated more than expected to a new four-decade high in June as the price of everyday necessities remains painfully high, exacerbating a financial strain for millions of Americans and worsening a political crisis for President Joe... They're facing higher prices for critical inputs due to inflation, wasteful spending, and our broken supply chain. I will always champion policies that support our great businesses in the 4th District. Congressman Feenstra Tours Scranton Manufacturing Thursday US Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas, Iowa's Fourth Congressional District Representative Randy Feenstra, along with Iowa District 24 Senator Jesse Green learned about the garbage truck producer that delivers its refuse vehicles globally.
