John, it’s
happening again. Joe Manchin and corporate Democrats are failing to invest
in clean energy and tax the rich.

Manchin tells Dem leaders that climate, tax hikes OUT of ever-shrinking
economic package. Deficit reduction, prescription drug reform & ACA
subsidies believed still in play

Again, we are left with an "ever-shrinking economic package." This is
exactly why the Squad voted AGAINST Manchin and Gottheimer last year — to
save Build Back Better.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Cori Bush, Jamaal Bowman, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan
Omar, and Ayanna Pressley all urged Democrats to make sure Manchin
couldn’t pass his bipartisan infrastructure bill last year WITHOUT also
passing Build Back Better. But the Democratic Party establishment decided
to trust Manchin and pass the infrastructure bill anyways. And now the
core and moderate Biden-approved social, economic, and environmental
policies that we desperately need are even further out of reach.

A Democratic Party that cannot tax the rich and make major investments in
the fight on climate change is not a party for the people with a vision
for the future,
John. We must fight to
transform the Party, protect the Squad, and expand our bloc of Justice
Democrats in Congress to advance critical progressive policies.

Joe Manchin takes more fossil fuel campaign contributions than anyone else
in D.C. It’s obvious why he’d want to stop legislation to fund a just
transition away from oil and gas. Unfortunately, this isn’t just a problem
with Joe Manchin.

Corporate Democrats all receive massive amounts of campaign money from
corporations and Wall Street. They are all more willing to listen to the
corporate lobbyists who care about profits than the people they’re
supposed to represent. And that’s a big reason why Democrats passed
Manchin’s bipartisan infrastructure bill, giving away all leverage over
climate policy, taxing the rich, and a broad swath of social and economic
measures for working people.

Justice Democrats in Congress are the leaders who will not give in to
corporate lobbyists and who will always fight for the people.
