John, this is a red alert for transformational climate action.

There’s a budget reconciliation bill that includes a historic amount of climate investments that would finally put the U.S. on the path to a clean economy. This bill has already passed in the House but has been stalled in the Senate for months , thanks to Sen. Manchin.

Now, Joe Manchin has chosen to side with Republicans, stating that he won’t support the climate provisions in the bill. This bill would be the greatest single step of progress in our history, and we can’t let it fail. Will you pitch in today so we can save this climate package and pass transformative clean energy legislation? [[link removed]]

DONATE [[link removed]]After the Supreme Court’s decision curbing the EPA’s emission regulating capabilities, all eyes have been on this bill to pass meaningful climate action. It includes clean energy investments that address both the energy crisis and inflation crisis our nation is currently facing.

And we know that Americans are on SEEC’s side. Recent polling shows that a bipartisan majority of Americans believe Congress should do more – not less – to promote our climate agenda. But Joe Manchin doesn’t care about being on the right side of history; he only cares about himself. We can’t let one senator bully and discourage us into stepping back from this fight.

John, this is yet another example of the consequences of elections. Manchin only has this power because of the slim majorities congressional Democrats currently hold. But don’t forget that this isn’t just Manchin’s fault. Every single House and Senate Republican has also decided to vote against these climate investments.

So make no mistake, if Republicans take back Congress in November, things will only get worse.

Thanks to your help in 2020, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 117th Congress while we undo the damage of the Trump Administration.
