Democrat Leadership is Running This Country into the Ground Greetings! I wanted to take a moment to share with you a recap on what happened this week in Texas' 22nd District and the United States House of Representatives. This Week in Washington Democrat Leadership is Running The Country into the Ground Under Joe Biden's one-party rule in Washington, the country is in shambles and American families are struggling to keep up. Last week, news broke that Biden sold near one million barrels of oil from the U.S. reserve to China while our gas prices are skyrocketing. To make matters worse, he traveled to the Middle East to cowardly ask Saudi Arabia to pump more rather than asking our producers at home. Inflation is only getting worse too thanks to Democrat incompetence. June numbers showed that inflation reached a staggering 9.1 percent. This is untenable for families who are already stretching their dollar to afford groceries, gas, electricity, mortgages, and more. Democrats' only solution to the problem is to keep throwing away billions of taxpayer dollar on pork-filled spending packages. Time and time again, Joe Biden has displayed weak and ineffective leadership on matters relating to the economy, energy, the border, and more. The only ones benefiting from the Biden agenda are our foreign adversaries. When Republicans take back Congress in 2022, we will start putting our country back on the right track by putting American interests FIRST. Raised Concerns Over DOJ Official Quietly Resigning After Receiving Million-Dollar Checks from Private Academic Institution This week, I sent a letter to the Department of Justice (DOJ) raising concerns that Pamela Karlan, the Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division, was engaged in an unethical arrangement in which she continued to earn nearly $1 million a year from Stanford University while working as a government official. Recently, the American Accountability Foundation filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request concerning Ms. Karlan’s unusual pay provisions. Ms. Karlan quietly left her post one business day before the documents were delivered to the foundation. The American people deserve to know if their DOJ is being corrupted by political pawns bankrolled by Left-Wing institutions and Liberal billionaires to carry out their radical agenda. The whole situation stinks to high heaven—and when Republicans take back the House we are going to weed out the stench of this administration one subpoena at a time.
