OCEANSIDE, Calif. — On Thursday, the Oceanside Police Officers' Association Board of Directors endorsed Brian Maryott and released the following statement:
"We know Brian Maryott will stand for law enforcement which is important now more than ever. The OPOA has the utmost confidence that Brian is the best candidate to represent Oceanside."
Brian Maryott responded, "I am very grateful for the support of the Oceanside Police Officers' Association. The task we ask of our members of law enforcement is onerous, and in the midst of one of the largest crime waves in modern American history, we must expand police funding and support our police. We cannot stand for the radical and dangerous attacks against the frontline leaders trying to clean up our streets. Thank you OPOA!"
The Oceanside Police Officers' Association is committed to partnering with our community and city leaders to make Oceanside a safer place and maintain it as a great city to live, work and raise a family. Oceanside is the largest city in the 49th district with more than 175,000 residents.
To date, Brian Maryott has received the endorsements of the San Diego Police Officers' Association, The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, California Republican Party, Orange County Republican Party, San Diego Republican Party, San Diego Lincoln Club, Congressman Darrell Issa, Betty Ward, Ward Connerly, The California Women's Leadership Association PAC, 13 Mayors, 6 City Council Members, 4 County Supervisors, 2 State Senators, and 3 Assemblymembers (including the Republican Leader in the Assembly).
