Ask anyone on my team, folks — asking for money is my least favorite part of the job.

I’d much rather be hammering out deals in Washington, traveling around the state learning more about the issues Montanans are facing, or back home on the farm.

But as my team likes to remind me, fundraising is a critical part of keeping me and my Democratic colleagues in the Senate — and that’s where I’d like to stay, so I can keep delivering for the American people on things like cutting costs for working families, fighting for everyone’s right to make their own health care decisions, and combating climate change.

This week, my team set a goal of raising $5,000 to get our totals back on track for the month — and our deadline is tonight. Now, if we miss this goal, it’s not the end of the world. But it does mean we’ll be behind in what is already a tough fundraising moment during a challenging election year for Democrats.

Mitch McConnell and the Republicans are hell-bent on retaking the Senate this year and returning the body to a legislative graveyard — a place where nothing ever gets done and the number one priority is to obstruct our agenda.

We can’t let that happen. Not when we have so much work to do curbing inflation, restoring voting rights, ending gun violence, and protecting access to abortion. The Senate should be working nonstop to address these issues — not stalling, obstructing, or playing political games with people’s lives.

Friend, I don’t want to ask and you probably don’t want to be asked, but it’s important. Can you show your support by pitching in any amount before midnight to help us keep making progress on the issues that matter?

We already know that Mitch McConnell and the GOP are planning on pouring millions of dollars into battleground states to unseat vulnerable Democrats. I want to do everything I can to have fellow Democrats’ backs, and I am hopeful that you do, too.

Thanks for all you do. I appreciate it more than I can say.
