This week, inflation in the United States reached 9.1%, the highest number in four decades. President Biden claimed over a year ago that inflation would be temporary, yet this is the 13th straight month of rising prices. To put this in perspective, Americans will pay an additional $5,000 this year in gasoline costs alone.
It’s time Liberals in Washington recognize their reckless spending is driving the inflation crisis. Instead, they are working on another reconciliation bill that will spend hundreds of billions of dollars on their radical climate agenda. I will oppose any new federal spending until inflation is under control.
Meanwhile, instead of working to unleash domestic energy potential and bring down record-high gas prices, President Biden is in Saudi Arabia today begging them to produce more oil. The United States has the natural resources to be energy independent, but the left is beholden to a cabal of radical environmentalists who want to keep it in the ground. We must approve new oil and gas leases and complete the construction of every oil and natural gas pipeline that remains unfinished.
Take my survey below and keep reading for more information on what’s happening in Washington.
Last month, the Biden Administration announced the reinstatement of an Obama-era practice requiring defendants to pay “donations” to activist groups as part of the terms of their defense settlement agreements. President Trump’s Department of Justice implemented a rule explicitly banning this practice due to its potential for corruption and abuse. I sent a letter to the attorney general on Monday opposing the return of this practice. Settlement agreement payments should go to the victims, not fund Democrats’ partisan pet projects.
AMAC AWARDS CONGRESSMAN GOODEN FOR HIS WORK TO PROTECT SENIORS
On Wednesday, I was honored to be recognized by the Association of Mature American Citizens for my work in Congress to protect senior citizens and the American values of faith, family, and freedom. I will continue to support policies that protect the programs Americans over 65 depend on.
BIG TECH COLLUSION SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED
Last month, it was reported that White House Climate Advisor Gina McCarthy has encouraged Big Tech companies to censor conservative voices online. This week, I sent her a letter demanding she preserve all documents and communications with Big Tech companies for future congressional investigations. The First Amendment guarantees Americans the right to free speech, and disagreeing with the Biden Administration’s radical climate agenda on social media should not be labeled as disinformation.
Do you believe Congress should investigate whether President Biden or his administration has colluded with Big Tech companies to censor conservative voices?
“It’s the peak of hypocrisy. I’m here in Washington D.C where I see black live matter signs everywhere. I don’t sense that migrant unborn lives matter [to the Biden Administration]. I’m also curious if some of these migrants are being coerced when they’re being offered abortion services… I suspect many of them are Catholic and pro-life.”
GOP LAWMAKERS BLAST RETURN OF SWAMPY ‘SLUSH FUND’ SETTLEMENT AGREEMENTS UNDER BIDEN’S DOJ
“More than two dozen Republican lawmakers sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland on Friday blasting White House plans to revive “slush fund” settlements, wherein federal agencies redirect taxpayer dollars to third-party interest groups.”
‘AN ALARMING PATTERN’: GOP REP LAUNCHES PROBE INTO POSSIBLE BIG TECH-WHITE HOUSE COLLUSION
“Republican Congressman Lance Gooden (R-TX) initiated a probe into potential collusion between the White House and tech companies Wednesday, demanding the Biden administration’s senior climate adviser preserve relevant documents.”
