Hi John,
Criminal justice reform. It's a broad issue that has dire consequences for so many. From Black communities and how they interact with police to immigrants seeking asylum who are detained at the border, from for-profit prisons to the criminalization of abortion — our criminal legal system is unjust and often unjustified.
While reform can feel like an impossible undertaking, we can do something, especially in our local communities, in our cities, and in our states.
Elected local prosecutors have the power to hold cops accountable. Elected members of county supervisor boards have the power to regulate and enforce policies like the use of mandatory body cameras and training protocols. Counties and local jurisdictions have the power to reject new for-profit prisons and end ICE contracts.
These actions can save lives, but we need you in this fight to elect diverse young progressives who are ready to take them.
Over 30,000 diverse young progressives have already signed on to run for office this year in local races like these across the country. Donate $5 or more to help our candidates tackle the system head-on.

We cannot wait for the system that was built for old, white men to save us. It’s up to all of us.
And we don't have to wait for our heroes: In Virginia, Danica Roem set up a new website laying out cold cases to expand transparency and public outreach. In Tennessee, councilmember JB Smiley Jr. is introducing a resolution to urge the DA and law enforcement not to prosecute women seeking abortions or medical providers who perform them.
While reforming our criminal legal system isn't going to be solved by one election we CAN begin to unravel it through seizing and securing diverse young progressive power and fair and equal representation.
Donate $5 or more to get it done, together.
Thank you so much for your support.
