This is Shameful
This week, Speaker Pelosi unilaterally decided to proceed with articles of impeachment against President Trump despite any information to confirm Democrats’ allegations that President Trump committed bribery or extortion. Fact witness after fact witness in the House Intelligence Committee’s impeachment hearings testified that President Trump had no personal involvement in a quid pro quo, bribery, extortion, or any number of crimes Democrats have accused him of committing.
Every minute spent in impeachment hearings is a minute Congress could have spent fixing trade deals, lowering prescription drug prices, addressing the security and humanitarian crisis on the southern border, and funding our military. It’s a shame that Speaker Pelosi is putting impeachment over the issues facing hardworking American families.

Meeting with Brother Martin and Ursuline High School Students
This week, I had the opportunity to visit with Brother Martin and Ursuline High School students visiting Washington, D.C. It was a pleasure to meet with these bright students from Louisiana who are eager to learn more about the legislative process. I wish each student continued success in their future endeavors.

Combatting the Robocall Epidemic
Robocalls are out of control, and we took a significant action this week to combat this nuisance by passing the TRACED Act. Not only are these calls a nuisance, they are often perpetrated by criminals who are willfully ignoring the law in an attempt to defraud American families. This bill requires telephone carriers to verify calls, and empowers people with updated technology to block calls from scam artists, all at no additional cost to consumers. The bill also gives law enforcement and the FCC the tools needed to quickly pursue robocall scammers. I look forward to this legislation being signed into law by President Trump soon.
