Action
This is our first roundup since SCOTUS issued its decision on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. The hateful and wrong ruling was devastating, but we remain undeterred in our work. We will not submit. We will step up, stand up, and fight back. Please join us.
Self-managed abortion with pills is a safe and effective option for ending a pregnancy in the comfort and privacy of one’s own home. And it will be a vital option as abortion access shrinks. Erin led a teach-in on self-managed abortion with pills outside SCOTUS.
We signed on to a brief in Massachusetts in support of app-based drivers, who challenged a ballot initiative proposed by companies like Uber, Lyft, Doordash, and Instacart, that would have stripped worker protections from ‘gig workers’. We also signed onto an additional brief in support of three Black and bi-racial children in Minnesota who were being treated differently than white students at their school and experiencing ongoing race-based harassment. We’re so pleased to say that both briefs have been successful so far! The Massachusetts case was decided in favor of the workers, while the Minnesota case is progressing despite legal challenge, giving these students their day in court.
