Abortion GPs claimed over €3 million in 2021 for performing terminations, but many of them never bothered notifying the Minister for Health as required under the law ()
On Wednesday, the Department of Health released the abortion figures for 2021, revealing that approximately 6,700 abortions occurred during that calendar year. They issued a supplementary note with the figures claiming they still had to confirm the precise figure for the year as over 2,000 notifications to the Minister for Health had not been filed for abortions that had taken place. However, the GPs who carried out the terminations and who were meant to submit the notifications all managed to submit their claims on time to receive payment for the 6,700 abortions they performed.

Abortion providing GPs are paid €450 for each termination they carry out, bringing the figure for 2021 to over €3 million of taxpayers’ money spent on GPs alone to end the lives of unborn babies. This figure does not include the amount paid out to medics in hospital settings for performing surgical abortions.
The Department of Health cited the 2021 cyber attack on the HSE and Covid-19 as possible reasons why so many GPs had failed to file the proper notifications with the Minister for Health for the abortions they had performed. However, the explanation given by the Department does not add up when all the GPs who carried out abortions somehow found a way to get paid in full for what they did, in spite of the cyber attack or Covid-19.
Not only were 6,700 babies killed by abortion in Ireland in 2021 but many of the doctors who ended these innocent lives didn't even show them the respect of recording their passing by notifying the Minister for Health as they're obliged to do under the law. When it came to getting paid, however, the doctors in question made certain they were remunerated in full for their dastardly deeds. It’s another stark reminder of the cold and callous reality of legalised abortion.

The figures released by the Department of Health year on year do not include the number of abortions carried out in England on women from Ireland. This figure is 775 abortions from 2019-2021, bringing the total number of Irish abortions over the past three years to 20,718.

Abortion Right Campaign ‘celebrates’ increase in Irish abortion numbers ()

Screenshot of the press release issued by the Abortion Rights Campaign

The Abortion Rights Campaign issued a press release on Wednesday celebrating the fact that 6,700 abortions occurred in Ireland in 2021. For anyone who doubted the way abortion activists disregard and disrespect the lives of unborn babies, this week's press release should set the record straight.

It is a terribly sad and troubling thing when human life is cheapened to the point where people actually celebrate its ending.

Also on the subject of the latest abortion figures, The Irish Times ran a very misleading headline on Thursday that gave the impression to readers that the number of abortions happening in Ireland had fallen sharply over the past year. Of course the opposite is unfortunately the case. There is no excusing this misrepresentation from the news outlet that still proudly sees itself as “the paper of record”.
PLC’s analysis of HSE’s “unobjective and selective” report on unplanned pregnancy ()
[link removed]
The HSE’s ‘Unplanned Pregnancy and Abortion Care (UnPAC) Study’, which was released earlier in the week as part of the three year review of the abortion law was described by the Pro Life Campaign as a “highly selective and slanted” document for excluding the voices of many women, including women who regret their abortions and those who contemplated abortion but decided in the end to continue their pregnancy.

The PLC has done a brief analysis of the HSE document which you can access here ([link removed])

Check out Apple’s controversial podcast on serial killer and abortionist Dr Kermit Gosnell ()

Apple is currently featuring a podcast series on America's most prolific serial killer and abortionist Dr Kermit Gosnell. It’s presented by Irish journalist Ann McElhinney and is creating considerable controversy and interest.

In the series, McElhinney discloses lots of new information on how Gosnell appeared to be a kindly community doctor but killed with impunity whilst those who were supposed to stop him looked away.

You can listen to the series here ([link removed]) .

Afterwards, consider rating the podcast and commenting on it, to help keep the debate going on Apple! Also, share the podcast link with family and friends.

Send INSTANT ready-to-go message to your TDs asking them to urge Stephen Donnelly to immediately STOP telemedicine abortion ()
[link removed]
The Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly is expected to make a decision very soon on whether to end or sanction the continuation of telemedicine home abortions.

In a very distrubing new finding, 15% of women in the UK said they experienced pressure to go though with an abortion they didn't want to have.*

The HSE in Ireland recently acknowledged** that coercion is MORE likely to occur when abortions happen remotely.

Telemedicine abortion is anti-woman as well as anti-baby.

Take one minute to send an INSTANT message to your TDs asking them to urge the Minister for Health to immediately STOP telemedicine abortion now that Covid 19 measures have been eased in every other area.

You can send an instant message here ([link removed])

*The findings are contained in research conducted for BBC Radio 4
**In an answer to a Parliamentary Question from Carol Nolan TD on 3rd March 2022
