In the wake of the Supreme Court’s gut-wrenching decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, this happened:

That’s not out of context or exaggerated -- here’s the full quote: “The child sacrifice is a very satanic practice, and that's precisely what abortion is. And we need to see it as such.”

There are simply no words. Someone who believes anything close to that has no place in public office. But if she wins in November, this woman will be in charge of Michigan’s elections.

Look, thanks to Donald Trump, it sometimes feels like we can’t be shocked anymore -- that we’ve heard and seen every outrageous thing a politician could say or do. But the fact is, far from being the end of the line, Trump has opened the door and rolled out the welcome mat for every other fringe conspiracy theorist to attempt to legitimize their extreme views.
