Bend the Arc: A Jewish Partnership for
Justice’s Selah Leadership Program, in partnership with the Rockwood
Leadership Institute, is now accepting applications for Cohort
16.
Friend—
Two years ago, I
participated in Cohort 15 of the Selah Leadership Program.
As a
Jewish Woman of Color, being in sacred community with
other Jewish People of Color
was healing and transformative for me and my work for
justice.
Today, I’m the new
Selah Program Manager and am thrilled to announce that applications
for Selah Cohort 16 are now open!
Learn more, apply, or nominate someone
you know for the Selah Leadership Program here.
Applications and Letters of recommendation are open from July 22
- September 22, 2019.
In a Selah cohort,
twenty people who play a significant leadership role in Jewish and
non-Jewish social change organizations come together over a period of
six months to experience intensive leadership and management training,
networking and community building, and ongoing learning.
Because we know
that by transforming leaders, we are better able to transform
society.
The American Jewish
community is multiracial — between 10-20% of the American Jewish
community identify as Jews of Color — but only a few Jews of Color
lead in Jewish mainstream organizations. So in 2015, after thirteen cohorts with a
majority of white Jews, Selah launched its first cohort specifically
for Jewish leaders of color.
Selah Cohort 16
will be a healing space where Jewish leaders of color can build deep,
interdependent relationships to advance and support each other’s
leadership, inside and outside the Jewish community.
Are you a self-identified Jewish Person of
Color who would grow through the Selah experience? Do you know someone
who would be a good fit? Apply now or recommend
someone.
I would be happy to
answer any questions. Please feel free to reach out anytime to connect
with me.
Thank
you,
Leili
