Fellow Conservative,

Another week has gone by and House Democrats have doubled down on their partisan agenda. The impeachment hearings continued in the Judiciary Committee and Speaker Pelosi pushed through a deeply flawed bill that undermines our state and local voting systems.

> > > But before we jump in, have you registered for the National Pro-Life Summit <[link removed]> on January 25, 2020?

It’s going to be a big deal! Heritage Action is co-hosting the event with four other pro-life organizations: The Heritage Foundation, Students for Life, Live Action, and the Alliance Defending Freedom.

Pro-life activists of all ages are coming from across America for a historic one-day training. You will leave the event prepared to lead your communities in a post-Roe America. Register today! <[link removed]>
Election Integrity at Risk
Yesterday, the House passed the Voting Rights Advancement Act (H.R. 4) <[link removed]>, it is important not to conflate the Voting Rights Act of 1965 (VRA) with this new bill.

H.R. 4 hijacks the VRA by replacing the worthwhile goal of ending racial discrimination with the completely partisan goal of advancing liberal political candidates. H.R. 4 gives the federal government power to stop states from implementing reasonable policies, like voter ID laws, which are necessary to ensure election integrity.

With H.R. 4, liberals want to use the power of the federal government to overturn voter ID laws and prevent states from ensuring the integrity of their own elections. The bill is clearly unconstitutional and would destroy American principles of federalism and separation of powers.

Impeachment Sham Continues
Tim Chapman joined Dana Perino on Fox News <[link removed]> this week and called out this Democrat-led impeachment process for what it really is:
What we see here at home is a Democratic Party who is bound and determined to finish this job that they wanted to start on day one of [Donald Trump’s] presidency.

We’re looking at the polling data, people in these swing states and working class Americans in general who aren’t very ideological don’t have time for impeachment. Let the Democrats run as far as they want to go on the impeachment thing because I don’t think it’s going to work out for them.

Next Week: Government Price Controls
Next week, the House is expected to vote on H.R. 3, the Lower Drug Costs Now Act. <[link removed]> This problematic legislation gives the federal government power to control drug prices using not one, but TWO different price-setting schemes.

These two price-control schemes will lead to less money for research, fewer new treatments and medications, and longer wait times for treatments.

And ironically, H.R. 3 will even lead to higher prices for many drugs. H.R. 3 limits the ability of companies to raise prices on drugs, so companies would be incentivized to introduce new drugs at higher initial prices than they otherwise would have.

The impeachment process has rocked Washington, but the real scandal is Congress’ inability to fund the federal government.
