It’s no secret that turnout in midterm elections is often much lower than it should be.
What causes this persistent problem is inside-the-beltway conventional wisdom that says campaigns should focus all their resources on a tiny pool of wealthy white suburban voters at the expense of everyone else. This produces a constant cycle where big Democratic Party institutions often ignore voters of color, rural white voters, progressives, and young people, locking a lot of potentially transformative voters, candidates, and campaigners out of the process entirely.
The truth is, if we want to run successful campaigns, we need to build a reflective democracy, where our political process reflects the lived experiences, needs, and values of all people across America.
To do that, we know that we must expand our voter targeting, persuasion, and turnout models -- and we've got the perfect training for you to learn how we do just that!
Starting next month, we will be hosting our first Night School sessions since 2020, where our organizing team will detail how we build winning campaigns by emphasizing working on the ground and speaking to voters directly.
This virtual night school enables us to take the energy and power of progressives and continue building out fundamental skills so that our campaigns can be expansive, including a larger share of our voting base.
