John,

Shortly after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, I appeared on MSNBC's Morning Joe to discuss the implications of this dreadful decision for women and girls in Georgia.

If you have a few minutes this afternoon/evening, I hope you can watch my interview. And then, please chip in a few dollars or more to help me defeat an anti-choice attorney general and fight for the basic healthcare rights of Georgians →

This fight is about people like my daughter — who's about to be in a world where she has fewer rights than I did at her age. All the restrictive laws and soundbites that we see from extreme politicians right now are completely incongruent with the lives that women deserve to lead and the private decisions they should be able to make for themselves.

HB 481 (Georgia's six-week abortion ban that I fought against in 2019) will likely go into effect by August. The consequences will be stark.

Georgia already has the highest maternal mortality rate in the country, and further cutting off women from reproductive care will do nothing but increase this rate and perpetuate inequalities across the state.

I grew up in a poor community in rural Georgia, and I've been thinking about how folks in communities like mine will disproportionately feel the impact of this Supreme Court decision. I understand how this ruling and the implementation of HB 481 will impact women of all backgrounds. They need an Attorney General who will fight for them, not against them.

Georgia Republicans (including my opponent, Chris Carr) are making life-saving care less accessible and the quality of living worse for countless people. We need to stop them in November, up and down the ballot.

Please support my campaign, and then share my recent interview with a friend — everyone needs to know what's at stake.

Thank you,

Jen

Democratic State Senator Jen Jordan (pronounced Jer-Dun) has spent her legal career fighting for Georgians. Because of her real-life experience in the courtroom and out of it, Jen knows that now, more than ever, we need an Attorney General who will take a stand and fight for the rights of each and every Georgian.
