On January 6, 2021, when our Capitol – and members of Congress – were under attack by armed extremists attempting a coup, it was a visceral reminder that
American democracy is not a given: we must protect it.
Over the last few weeks, the House Select Committee’s public hearings on January 6th have revealed just how close a losing president came to violently undermining our democracy and overturning legitimate election results.
Now, hundreds of right-wing extremists who peddle the Big Lie about the 2020 presidential election are running for office across the country – including right here in Oregon’s Fifth District.
