My friends,

These past few weeks have been difficult, for my family, and for all of us as a nation. I’m glad to say that thanks to you, we made it to the general election. But that was just the beginning of this fight.

This month, the Supreme Court stole the reproductive rights of hundreds of millions of Americans.

Families lost their children, parents, and grandparents to outbursts of senseless, preventable gun violence.

The January 6th hearings have proven that our elected officials violated our trust to pursue their authoritarian power fantasies.

Healing our country’s deep wounds can, frankly, seem impossible. Too many are asking if our best days are behind us.

My answer: only if we surrender to our apathy and cynicism. But we have a choice.

When everything seems hopeless, be the hope.

So, we get back to work, and stay positive and energized and engaged. We reach out to friends and neighbors who think differently from us. We can canvass, register voters, and even chip in $10 or $15 to a crucial battleground race like this one. 😉

Folks, it’s important to remember that the majority of Americans share a fundamental goodness. They know our country isn’t perfect, and they want it to be better. There is hatred here, but love has got the numbers.

Trust democracy, but don’t take it for granted. And always, always lead with love.

Thank you,
Sean Casten
