John,
When Colorado’s 7th District seat held by Ed Perlmutter was redrawn, we weren’t too alarmed by the changes. After all, Ed had won his last several elections by double-digits. Plus, with Brittany Pettersen as the Democratic nominee, it seemed like a slam dunk.
But as Republicans feel more bullish about their prospects this November, Colorado’s 7th District is now part of the GOP plan to take control of the U.S. House.
With abortion access, additional gun reforms, and climate change hanging in the balance, we absolutely can’t let that happen. That’s why the Colorado Turnout Project is activating young voters in every zip code of the state, partnering with RideShare2Vote and other progressive grassroots organizations.
With so many statewide elections this year in Colorado, Congressional candidates like Brittany Pettersen in the 7th and Dr. Yadira Caraveo in the neighboring 8th cannot depend on the Democratic Party establishment to get them through.
