Hi John, I'm Henry, and I've been fighting tirelessly to protect the Boundary Waters from the copper mining threat for the last five years as a leader in Kids for the Boundary Waters.
Right now I'm in Washington D.C. meeting with members of Congress to ask them to protect my favorite place on earth.
I sat in on the Boundary Waters Protection bill hearing yesterday, and realized just what we’re up against - toxic copper mining proponents who deliberately distort the truth and grandstand about totally unrelated issues to try to block this bill. Luckily, our Boundary Waters bill passed through committee (yay!!), but it was a close call. |
I'm working so hard to make sure this bill becomes law because I have witnessed this area be transformative for countless youth: cultivating a strong relationship to the natural world and others, serving as a classroom for learning and development, and bringing countless families together in this special place. I have been lucky enough to spend time going to camp and on trips near this wilderness since I was two years old, spending quiet moments reveling in its unparalleled beauty with my family. This wilderness has shaped who I am today and is something worth fighting for.
Today, an exceptional group of donors have pledged a 24-hour double match for the Wilderness, so we can continue to push hard in D.C. to protect the Boundary Waters. That means your gift to protect the Boundary Waters DOUBLES - today only.
Join me in making a 2X gift for canoe country right now. |
