| Big news, friend: The California Democratic Party just endorsed Prop 30! I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to see the momentum building around Prop 30, the Clean Air Initiative that will be on the ballot this November in California. In just the last week, over 1,000 EnviroVoters members (!!!) signed our petition endorsing Prop 30. Now, the state party has gotten behind the initiative, calling it a plan to “better fund climate action.” Please, if you haven’t already, add your name to our petition to continue the momentum behind Prop 30, the Clean Air Initiative >> It’s incredible and, honestly, even a little rare to see the Democratic Party, environmental and environmental justice groups, businesses, working families, firefighters, and community leaders all coming together like this. But it makes sense. Prop 30, the only climate initiative on the ballot this November, will be a breath of fresh air. Literally. It will invest nearly $100 billion over the next 20 years to restore California’s clean air, going after our top two sources of dirty air: wildfires and vehicle emissions. In doing so, Prop 30 will escalate the state’s transition to zero-emission transportation and power generation, which will improve air pollution enough to save thousands of lives! So friend, what do you say: Are you on board with Prop 30? Sign on to show your support. |

| Exciting news, friend: We’re on the ballot! Let me back up. Earlier this year, California Environmental Voters joined a coalition of environmental, public health, labor, business, environmental justice, and consumer advocacy groups to sponsor a statewide climate ballot initiative. Prop 30, the Clean Air Initiative, would boost California’s transition to clean, zero-emission vehicles and increase wildfire prevention and response. And we’ve already secured enough signatures to be on the November ballot for all California voters! This summer, we’re acquiring endorsements and building support up and down the state to pass this bold climate initiative. Right now, will you sign our virtual petition to show that the membership base of EnviroVoters is strongly behind Prop 30? |
| | Here in California, we breathe some of the most toxic air in the world. In fact, according to a recent report from the American Lung Association, air pollution endangers the health and lives of 38 million Californians, practically the entire state! The Clean Air Initiative will make a significant impact in the fight to solve the climate crisis by going after the two main sources of the state’s dirty air: wildfires and vehicle emissions. The American Lung Association projects that transitioning to zero-emission transportation and power generation will reduce air pollution enough to prevent the following in California from now through 2050: - 15,300 premature deaths
- 440,000 asthma attacks
- 2,160,000 lost work days
- $169 billion in public health costs
As our state’s most underserved populations have shouldered the biggest threats of the climate crisis, the initiative would invest a minimum of 50% of all charging infrastructure and zero-emissions vehicle rebate funds toward low-income communities. Prop 30 would also fund more firefighters, equipment and mitigation to prevent wildfires and better support our firefighters on the frontlines. Friend, we know how much environmental justice and climate action matter to you, so we wanted to make sure you are aware and on board with this critical November ballot initiative. Please add your virtual signature to continue to grow this campaign for bold climate action → Let’s win this! |
