Boozhoo niiji John,
The fall primary election is quickly approaching on Aug. 9!
Voters have the ability to shape the world we live in by casting their ballot. By using your voice, you can be an active participant in your community.
On Aug. 9, voters will cast their ballots for important offices including the governor, U.S. Senate, state legislature, and other statewide offices. This primary election determines who will be the candidates to run for each political party. We encourage every eligible voter to make a voting plan! Make sure you have the voting information you need to vote on or before Aug. 9, 2022. |
Know what’s on your ballot. You can find a sample ballot on MyVote here. Not sure who to vote for? The League of Women Voters of Wisconsin recently published its Fall Voter Guide with unbiased candidate information in English and in Spanish on VOTE411.

Vote Absentee or Vote Early
If you plan to vote absentee, you can request your absentee ballot here. Absentee ballots must be received by Election Day, Aug. 9. You can no longer return your ballots in absentee ballot dropboxes, so return your ballot in the mail as soon as possible or drop it off in-person at your clerk’s office, early voting site, or Election Day polling location. Make sure you are dropping off your own absentee ballot. Know that you have the right to vote privately and independently. If you need a disability related accommodation to exercise this right, call your clerk and ask them for one.
You can also vote early as soon as July 26 (also called in-person absentee voting). The early voting hours and dates vary by municipality. To find your early voting location, visit this link or call your municipal clerk. |
Vote on Election Day
You can also vote in-person on Election Day on Tuesday, Aug. 9. Make sure you bring a valid photo ID and know where your polling place is (your polling location may have changed this year). All polling locations are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
