John, my campaign was just dealt a tough blow:
I'm only a few points ahead in a recent poll – and to make matters even worse, I just learned that my anti-choice GOP opponent outraised me in the last campaign reporting period by $450,000.
Right now, the stakes couldn't be higher. As GOP Governors restrict and even ban abortion in neighboring states, national Republicans are pouring money into New Mexico to flip our state red and ban abortion here, too.
I know I can continue to build a better future for New Mexico – but only if donors like you contribute now. Please, will you donate $5 to help me defend our personal freedoms from GOP extremism?

My team has been horrified as national Republicans zero in on this race. The Republican Governors Association is directing its top donors toward my opponent in the hope of replacing me with a man who thinks reproductive choice is "barbaric."
Everything from reproductive rights to climate action is at risk in this close race, so I need my top supporters by my side during this critical moment. If we come up short again, I WILL fall behind in the next poll, so please don't let radical conservatives in Washington and deep-pocket anti-choice donors influence our state.
Please, John, let's make sure we are never outraised again: Rush $5 – or whatever you can spare before midnight – to help me keep New Mexico blue.

I'm so grateful that you've joined this grassroots team. With your continued support, I know we can overcome GOP extremism.
