But they won’t stop there: Republican state legislators are already scheming to pass new laws that would BAN people from traveling for abortion care to Democratic-held states where it’s legal.
This would potentially jeopardize safe haven states and further limit access for millions of Americans in Republican-held states.

The Supreme Court has made state legislatures the main battleground for vital issues like abortion rights. Democratic-led states like California and Connecticut have taken action to protect access, with the goal of creating safe havens for people living in Republican-led states with harsh restrictions.

But the more state legislative chambers that Republicans control, the more laws they can pass to block people from traveling to get the care they need. And if the Supreme Court overturns federal protections for marriage equality, contraception, and more, those decisions could also be made by your state legislators – making it even more urgent to elect Democrats who defend our freedoms.
