The Biden Administration is considering mass student loan forgiveness for nearly 44 million borrowers - potentially writing off as much as $400 billion in student debt and $10,000 per person.
I believe such a policy would hurt taxpayers, students, and our economy. Blanket student loan forgiveness is more inflationary spending. It further removes incentive for schools and students to practice financial responsibility and raises questions of fairness compared to many students who worked hard to pay for tuition.
