[1]National Nurses United
Yes, it’s me again. And
I know it's late. But I have another huge update about next week’s House
hearing, and it’s the best one yet.
We just got word that our pressure campaign WORKED: An NNU nurse will be
officially invited to testify on behalf of Medicare for All.
This is indisputable proof of our grassroots power. Hundreds of you jumped
on the phone and took to social media to pressure Rep. Eshoo, and it
worked. Just imagine the type of pressure we could generate if we
recruited even MORE advocates and activists into our movement?

organizing tactics are a proven way to win people over to our cause, and
that makes us even more effective at pressuring members of Congress like
Rep. Eshoo.

I’m so proud (and most importantly, grateful) of what we just achieved.
Just a few days ago, it was assumed that witnesses supportive of Medicare
for All would be barred from testifying. But now we have one of our very
own nurses, NNU President Jean Ross, added to the witness list.
Like I said earlier — when we organize and fight together, we win. And all
our work, day in and day out, revolves around talking to and recruiting
new organizers into the fold.
The more organizers we have, the more powerful our movement becomes.
And the more powerful our movement becomes, the faster we can win Medicare
for All.

for one of our upcoming organizing calls today. Someone from our team will
follow up with all the instructions and next steps you could need.
We wouldn’t have advanced to this moment were it not for the work of
people like you, taking action and demanding accountability from their
elected officials. Let’s make sure we keep it up.
In solidarity,
Jasmine Ruddy
