Detroit DSA is a
800+ member funded organization. We receive no money from outside
sources so we can say things like "Defund the Police" and "Abolish
ICE" without losing funding, and we will always act democratically in
the interests of our members and the working class! If you're able to, we ask that you make
monthly contributions as they more directly benefit our chapter. Thank
you for whatever amount you're able to contribute!
Our records indicate that you are not
yet a member. If you're ready to join the
fight for working class power, go to dsausa.org/join and join today!

This Saturday is a great opportunity for you to jump on the front
lines of the fight for working class power here in
Michigan! We'll be supporting the University of Michigan
Nurses in Ann Arbor and
Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib in
Dearborn (huge props if you can make it to both of
these).
Solidarity forever,

🌹 UPCOMING EVENTS 🌹
UMPNC Informational Picket Saturday, July 16th, 10AM Fuller
Park Field 7 1519 Fuller Road, Ann Arbor, 48105
Since the beginning of COVID, politicians and corporate
overlords have called nurses things like "essential workers", "the
frontline defense against the pandemic", and "superheroes". Now,
6,300 unionized nurses at the University of
Michigan (UofM) just had their contract
expire on July 1. After months of bargaining for a new
contract, UofM management has so far refused to sign
any of the nurses union’s key proposals, insisting on keeping
mandatory overtime and refusing to recognize how our working
conditions impact safe patient care. In fact, UofM management are
insisting that the nurses accept 101 concessions in
the new contract!
Join the nurses this Saturday at 10AM in
solidarity for an informational picket and rally as we stand together
and show UofM management that they better put their money where their
mouth is.
Note: Please respond to this email to let us know you will be
attending. Look for the red DSA flag and banner when you arrive in
order to meet up with us.
