One of the single most dangerous and damaging acts of this lawless president is the appointment of unqualified, fringe extremists to lifetime appointments as federal judges.

Our already fragile justice system has been further marred by the confirmation of Attorney General William Barr, whose fascist rant at a recent Dept. of Justice dinner shows we MUST elect a new Senate in 2020:

“[Americans] have to start showing...the respect and support that law enforcement deserves―and if communities don’t give that support and respect, they might find themselves without the police protection they need.”

Our chief law enforcement officer just told the public that “serve and protect” is conditional and limited by the sentiment an individual or community has for law enforcement officers, implying that people or communities who’ve criticized law enforcement can’t count on police protection.

Let’s be blunt: this language is fascistic and dangerous. This is particularly true for marginalized communities who already face an unfair criminal justice system, the war on drugs, stop and frisk, and racially driven police brutality.

We know a GOP-controlled Senate will continue to play dirty, and unethically, regardless of who wins the Presidency. We can't let that happen, so we have to do more than just replace Trump. We MUST elect a new Senate, too.
