Hi Friend,

Our Texas Democratic Conventions are one of my favorite things we do as a party. There’s nothing that compares to the feeling of being alongside thousands of Texas Democrats, from 254 counties, united under one roof, fired up to make a change in our state.

I’ll never forget my first Texas Democratic Convention. It was the summer of 1984. Democratic Governor Mark White spoke to a crowd of local leaders, activists, voters, and volunteers. You could feel the energy in that room. And since then, I’ve been to at least 15 Conventions, and 3 as your Party Chairman.

I can’t believe it’s been four years since we’ve all been together. But with the seemingly unending slew of tragedies facing our state and our country, I can’t think of a better time to be surrounded by my fellow Texas Democrats. We need to lean on each other right now more than ever.

Starting tomorrow, all eyes will be on Texas. But we’re no stranger to the spotlight. Texas has always been at the forefront of our national movement for progress. When Texas turns blue, so does our nation. We have the power to ensure Democrats are leading the way at the state and the national level for generations to come.


That all starts tomorrow. We can’t achieve our goals this November unless every Texas Democrat and ally to our state is with us. So can I count you to rush a $7 contribution to our Convention Fund to show Republicans the power of our movement?

Not every state party has a biennial convention, but in a state as big as ours, with as much heart as ours, this long-standing tradition is something I know we all look forward to. With the amount of work our team has been putting in to make this year’s convention amazing, I know you won’t be disappointed.
