On July 13, 2022, the Canadian embassy in Guatemala tweeted:
Human rights defenders: protect and promote fundamental freedoms, strengthen the rule of law. In a meeting with these brave advocates for #Democracy and #HumanRights, Parliamentary Secretary Maninder Sidhu reiterated Canada will always #StandUp4HumanRights.

Encourage your Member of Parliament and officials with the Canadian Embassy to read TESTIMONIO: Canadian Mining in the Aftermath of Genocides in Guatemala.

Ask them: In order to always stand up for human rights, will the Canadian government initiate a full, impartial investigation into systematic human rights violations (including killings and rape) that have occurred in and around Canadian mining operations in Guatemala?
