John,

We cannot have a government of, by, and for the people when huge sums of money from the billionaire class continues to corrupt our politics and erode our democracy.

Take just two examples from this year’s elections where Paypal co-founder and Trump supporter Peter Thiel, and Wall Street trader Jeffrey Yass have spent tens of millions of dollars already.

By allowing billionaires like Peter Thiel to spend nearly $30 million to elect Republican extremists to the U.S Senate from J.D. Vance in Ohio to his close partner Blake Masters in Arizona, billionaires hand-pick our elected officials and dictate legislative outcomes in their favor.

Jeffrey Yass, a relatively unknown mega-wealthy billionaire, and GOP donor has avoided paying $1 billion in taxes, taking his tax dodging money to support numerous Republican extremists and election deniers.

The vast amount of money spent by these two billionaires in this election cycle alone makes it crystal clear: We need a wealth tax, and we need it now.

Tell Congress: Whether through a Billionaire’s Income Tax or other means that tax the wealth gains and income of billionaires, it’s time for you to make billionaires start paying their fair share in taxes.

It’s no secret that our campaign system is broken when politicians answer to big-money special interest groups rather than the American people.

Our democracy is supposed to reflect the will of the people. But right now, those with the most money have their voices heard and wield the most influence as a result.

That’s why DFA is working with our partners at Americans for Tax Fairness to pressure Congress to make billionaires pay their fair share in taxes and limit their influence on our elections.

Stand with us as we work to get big money out of our elections, so the voices of the people aren’t drowned out by the mega-wealthy. Tell Congress: Make billionaires pay their fair share in taxes and limit their influence on our elections.

Thank you for adding your name, now let’s keep fighting for our democracy.
