“Since I was a child, I’ve dealt with panic attacks,” Danielle Owen writes today. She’ll be at her most relaxed, when suddenly her heart begins to race, she gets dizzy, and she feels like she can’t breathe. Fortunately, for most of her adult life, these attacks were well-controlled.
And then she got pregnant, and it was a totally different story: “I would be sitting on the couch minding my own pregnant lady business when I would become suddenly aware of how fast my heart was beating. I’d try to breathe and tell myself it was perfectly normal, but I ultimately couldn’t prevent the panic attack from coming. Partly because once a panic attack grabs hold of you, you lose the ability to think rationally.” She finally got relief – read to find out how.
