John –
The GOP has been restricting voter access in state legislatures across the country. They pass bills in the name of voter protection, but Americans see through this deception and their false claims of voter fraud.
Republicans have been building barriers to access for years — including restricting mail ballot drop boxes, preventing election officials from sending absentee ballots, stopping volunteers from passing out food and water to voters, and delegating more election oversight powers to GOP-held state legislatures.
Congress passed The Voting Rights Act in 1965 during the height of the Civil Rights Movement. The bill and its subsequent amendments allowed Black people and other marginalized communities to vote in much greater numbers. I proudly voted the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act through the House to restore key provisions of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. It is past time that the Senate acts again to defend voting rights.

Voting is the foundation of our democracy. We, the people, are charged with choosing our representatives and holding their feet to the fire. And as we quickly approach the midterm elections, now is the time to act and uphold our rights as Americans.
Send a message to Washington that we won’t stand for these Jim Crow voter suppression laws. I need you to add your name now to call on the Senate to fight back against corruption and protect our right to vote » [link removed]
