Ohio Governor Mike DeWine Week in Review
"For the week ending December 6, 2019"
On *Monday*, theOhio Environmental Protection Agency (Ohio EPA) and Ohio Department of Health (ODH) released a statewide action plan [ [link removed] ]to analyze the prevalence of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in Ohios drinking water. This plan is following a call from Governor Mike DeWineto prepare a plan [ [link removed] ]to address potential threats to drinking water systems.
On *Tuesday*,Governor DeWine announced a new project that will expedite the process for certain former criminal offenders to apply to receive a pardon in Ohio. "The Ohio Governors Expedited Pardon Project", which will operate in partnership among the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC), The Ohio State University, and The University of Akron, will simplify Ohios lengthy clemency process for certain rehabilitated citizens who have consistently demonstrated that theyve become contributing members of society.
Governor DeWine Announced Creation of Epedited Pardon Project
On *Wednesday*,Governor DeWine joined Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities Director Jeff Davis to address the Ohio Association of County Boards Annual Convention.

On *Thursday,*Lt. Governor Jon Husted, joined by JobsOhio President and CIO J.P. Nauseef, traveled to Warren, Michigan for the signing of an agreement between General Motors (GM) and LG Chem that will create 1,100 new jobs in the Lordstown-area of Northeast Ohio for a total investment of up to $2.6 billion. Governor DeWine and Lt. Governor Husted began engaging GM in conversations before they took office to secure a long-term commitment from the company to the state. The new facility will manufacture lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles. You can read the full announcement here [ [link removed] ].

Also on *Thursday*, Governor DeWine and First Lady Fran DeWine took part in the Ohio Statehouse Holiday Festival and Tree Lighting 2019 ceremony at the Ohio Statehouse Atrium. The program included children's choir performances and an appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus. The event kicks off the Statehouse's 2019 holiday season, which includes free lunchtime holiday choir performances each weekday through December 20th.
