Hey, it’s Olivia — Ayanna’s Finance Director.
In my time working on campaigns, I’ve noticed something: The summer months are a challenging time for grassroots fundraising, particularly July.
2022 is turning out to be no different. As of this morning, our email fundraising is running $2,165 behind what we raised at this point in June. With Ayanna’s upcoming election, we need to be ramping up — not slowing down.
That’s why we’re counting on folx like you, who believe in Ayanna and this movement, to chip in $3 today.
We rely 100% on grassroots donations, because that’s the best way to build a multi-generational, multi-racial, inclusive movement. Our average contribution this year is just $21.93 — and a large part of our fundraising comes from supporters donating to emails just like this one.
But when we see a decline in online fundraising, it makes it harder for us to keep up with overhead costs and invest in the organizing required to build powerful momentum for progressive policies, help grow our Squad, and re-elect Ayanna.
