July is Disability Pride Month, a time to celebrate the accomplishments and highlight the voices of disabled people, as well as raise awareness about ableism and other issues facing the disabled community.

The month also serves to commemorate the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, which was passed in July 1990. While not a federally recognized designation, Disability Pride Month is still celebrated by cities and communities across the nation.

January 6th Committee Hearing Features Testimony From WH Counsel Pat Cipollone & Former Members of Extremist Groups

The Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the U.S. Capitol held its seventh public hearing on Tuesday that featured excerpts of former White House Counsel Pat Cipollone’s deposition last week, along with testimony regarding the role played by extremist groups and social media in the events of January 6th.

Cipollone told the committee that he agreed with the findings of former Attorney General Bill Barr and others who investigated Trump’s election fraud claims and found no evidence of fraud to a degree sufficient to undermine the outcome in a particular state.

NASA Delivers Deepest Infrared Image of the Universe From New James Webb Space Telescope

NASA delivered the deepest infrared image of the universe from the new James Webb Space Telescope, showing a view of the early universe. NASA’s photo covers a patch of sky approximately the size of a grain of sand held out at arm’s length. The image, known as Webb’s First Deep Field, reveals the galaxy cluster SMACS 0723 approximately 4.6 billion years ago. 

The James Webb Space Telescope is the successor to the Hubble Space Telescope, which has been in service since 1990. It can observe objects in space that are too old and distant for Hubble.
