As of today, with the addition of 372,000 new jobs in June, our private sector has recovered all of the jobs lost during the pandemic—and added new ones.

After creating 9,000,000 jobs in just seventeen months, America continues to undergo strong, steady job growth. More Americans are working in the private sector than any time in our history and our country remains well positioned to face global economic challenges.

Springfield Avenue Extension

I announced a $1.5 million federal grant that will help build a two-mile road as part of the Springfield Avenue Extension. This grant will help boost business and job growth in the area by providing a new commercial route to serve approximately 170 acres of industrial land. I will continue to fight for additional federal funds that bring jobs, and business opportunities, to Laredo.

Laredo Chamber of Commerce

I joined the Laredo Chamber of Commerce to congratulate its move to a new office building. With 9,283 businesses in Webb County, the Chamber of Commerce is essential to continue building on our economic growth this year.

Tecolotes Baseball

I had the honor of recognizing Don José Antonio Mansur Galán with a Congressional Certificate of Recognition for his outstanding 50-year career in professional baseball. Thank you, Don Mansur, for everything you have done to propel baseball in our sister cities of Laredo-Nuevo Laredo.

Laredo Water Museum

I joined a group of children from Rio Bravo on a field trip to the Laredo Water Museum. The kids learned why protecting our environment is crucial for our survival, and different ways on how we can act now. Thank you, Commissioner Jesse Gonzalez, for putting this together and for always putting our children first.

Starr County Health Coalition

My Rio Grande Outreach Coordinator, Nicolas Cruz, attended a health drive in San Isidro held by the Starr County Health Coalition. At the event, they offered free health screenings, informational resources, nutritional support, and warm meals.

Top Dog Tint

My San Antonio Outreach Coordinator, Arturo Olivarez, joined Top Dog Tint for their ribbon cutting in Converse. Top Dog Tint specializes in ceramic window tinting and will be a great addition to the community.

Texas Elite All-Stars

Arturo attended the Texas Elite All-Stars ribbon cutting in Converse. The gym, which focuses on youth cheer and tumbling, will create opportunity and a sense of community in Converse.

Laredo Center for the Arts

My Laredo Outreach Coordinator, Melissa Pena, attended the Laredo Center for the Arts for the showing of a documentary produced by Carlos Flores and Patricio Salinas.
