Dear John,
We’re back in Washington D.C. today to demand permanent protections for the Boundary Waters.
The U.S. House Natural Resources Committee will vote on Rep. Betty McCollum's Boundary Waters Protection bill today - and there has been extensive efforts by anti-Wilderness lawmakers to spread misinformation, block the bill, and pander to foreign toxic mining conglomerates. But we are in the halls of Congress in D.C. right now working hard to defend this bill.
This vote is an important part of the process to permanently protect the Boundary Waters from risky copper mining.
In light of this critical and daunting moment for the future of canoe country, an exceptional group of supporters have pledged a $24,000 double match [[link removed]], so we can continue to push hard in D.C. to protect the Boundary Waters.
This means that when you contribute between now and tomorrow [[link removed]], Thursday, July 14, these generous people will double your gift dollar-for-dollar…up to $24,000!
