In case you didn't hear this devastating news, a Florida law banning abortions after 15 weeks has been in effect since July 1.

A judge had initially ruled that the law violated Florida's constitution, but the decision was suspended when Republicans filed an appeal.

Florida's 15-week ban does not allow for exceptions in cases of rape or incest.

Florida is one of 26 states that was expected to ban abortions after Roe v. Wade was overturned. Why? Because the Republicans have a unified government, controlling the offices of governor, secretary of state, attorney general, and the state legislature.

This gives Republicans an enormous amount of power, and as we've seen, they intend to use it to discriminate against the most vulnerable members of our society.
