Running my first half-marathon last December was a huge challenge. So was running for state legislature and for governor. But they were important races to run.

Just like running a half-marathon, winning any race takes a lot of work. I keep thinking about that as we approach the November elections.

As we look toward the midterms, it can be daunting. Pulling off historic victories in 4 short months is possible, but some days will be difficult. The Democrats will not let up in their deluge of attacks against Republicans. Liberal billionaires will keep pushing millions of dollars into key battleground states to try and prevent us from winning in November.

This year Republicans have a huge opportunity to take back the House and the Senate, and win statewide races across the country.

This election year will not be easy. But it will be filled with races that we must win.
