As you may know, two University of Georgia (UGA) professors developed a website – with university resources – that allows dangerous groups and individuals to target crisis pregnancy centers across the nation. This comes at a time when unhinged rhetoric from radical abortion groups, members of Congress, and even the Biden Administration, against Supreme Court Justices and pro-life organizations has gone completely unchecked — empowering individuals to take matters into their own hands in their murderous crusade against the unborn. In fact, the UGA professors’ site has been used to locate pregnancy centers in order to carry out vandalism and acts of violence.

In response, I joined my good friend and colleague, Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA), in demanding UGA take immediate corrective actions to ensure the university's official resources are no longer being used to attack crisis pregnancy centers. While this academic project may seem to be rooted in innocence, providing the collated address data of these crisis pregnancy centers makes it unquestionably ripe for abuse. It’s disappointing that the state’s flagship university is allowing taxpayer-funded resources to provide this sensitive information to extremist organizations that are actively targeting crisis pregnancy centers — endangering mothers, their children, and employees — some of whom may be members or alumni of the UGA student body. Given the current climate and flared tensions, it would behoove the University of Georgia to swiftly act in the interest of safety and take down this site before more violence and destruction connected to it occurs.

Ty Cobb Museum

Recently, I visited the Veterans Affairs (VA) Regional Office in Decatur, where I met with their leadership team to discuss their imperative work and ways we can assist veterans in the Ninth. Additionally, I had the opportunity to participate in the Atlanta VA Medical Center’s PTSD awareness event, including joining the Atlanta VA Healthcare System Director, Ann Brown, in writing encouraging messages on the sidewalk for Georgia veterans. Afterwards, I received a briefing on the Medical Center’s facility and successful programs, such as mental health and community care. Ensuring Northeast Georgian veterans receive timely, high-quality care is one of my top priorities, which is why I thoroughly enjoyed visiting with local VA officials and staff to discuss how we can best work together to serve the Ninth’s veterans.

In Case You Missed It

After two wonderful weeks in the District, I’m back in Washington for the rest of this month, where Democrats remain focused on undermining the sanctity of human life. Today, the Oversight and Reform Committee will hold a hearing on the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent Dobbs decision, which rightfully and thankfully overturned Roe v. Wade and returned the issue of abortion back to the states. Yet Committee Democrats will use this hearing to push their radical, reckless, and reprehensible pro-abortion agenda on the American people. Rest assured, I will use my time to advocate for life and the integrity of the Supreme Court.
