For months, Americans battling record-high prices at the pump have desperately been waiting for meaningful solutions to lower gas prices. Yet, to no one’s surprise, the Biden Administration continues to ignore the crisis, lie about its origins, and deflect blame. Currently, the scapegoat shifts between Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine, oil companies’ so-called corporate greed, and gas station owners who should be selling gas at cost. No matter how hard the Administration pushes these false narratives, the American people know good and well that President Biden’s anti-American energy agenda sparked this crisis and continues to fuel it to crippling levels.
Unquestionably, the only thing more ridiculous than Biden’s illogical blame game is his latest false solution, which merely serves as a talking point to fraudulently claim the Administration is actively working to reduce gas prices. Back in March, Biden announced his plan to release 1 million barrels of oil per day from the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR). Not only is this decision unprecedented and unwarranted, but it also fails to address the energy crisis. Instead, Biden’s misleading arrangement recklessly depletes our strategic reserves and simultaneously compromises our national security.
This decision has been widely and rightfully criticized, as it offers zero help to Americans struggling to fill their gas tanks. Yet this disapproval is only growing louder after recent reports indicate President Biden sent over 5 million barrels of our SPR oil to Europe and Asia.
Just the latest example that this is the America Last Administration.
But folks – it gets worse. Almost one million barrels from our strategic reserves were sold to Unipec, a Chinese-owned gas company linked to Hunter Biden. Back in 2015, a private equity firm – co-founded by Hunter – purchased a nearly $2 billion stake in the Chinese gas company. Is Hunter Biden profiting from this recent sale of our SPR oil? Is President Biden?
We need congressional investigations into this matter – now. Unfortunately, Democrat leadership controlling both the House and Senate will continue providing cover to President Biden instead of providing answers to the American people. In contrast, my Republican colleagues and I remain dedicated to both unleashing domestic energy production and holding the Biden family accountable for their growing list of shady foreign business dealings.
