I hope your summer is going well and you had a great 4th of July! Minnesota is at its best in the summer and fall – where we can take road trips to other parts of the state, enjoy our lakes, and spend time in nature taking in the fresh air!

We had great turnout and lots of fun walking in the Edina 4th of July Parade with my friend, State Senate Candidate Dr. Alice Mann. I was happy to see Senator Amy Klobuchar and Representative Frank Hornstein, who joined us for the parade!

SIERRA CLUB ENDORSEMENT!
I am proud to announce that my campaign for re-election to the Minnesota House of Representatives has been endorsed by the Sierra Club, an organization known for their strong advocacy and protection of Minnesota’s ecosystems, wildlife, and natural resources.

Less than two weeks ago, the U.S. Supreme Court decision by the conservative majority ruled that the Clean Power Plan established under the Obama Administration went beyond the EPA’s regulatory authority. This decision rolls back the authority of the EPA to set utility standards to make system-wide changes and move away from dirty coal power generation. This was a huge step backwards from the progress we were making in protecting our environment. As a result, we will see increased carbon dioxide emissions, which are the leading cause of climate change.

I need your help. We must hold the Minnesota House of Representatives – our states are the last line of defense in many of these fights, including the fight against climate change. I am proud to be endorsed by the Sierra Club, and will continue to be an environment and climate champion for our state, just as I have been over the past 4 years at the Capitol. Early voting for the Minnesota Primary is happening now at Edina City Hall. On Primary Election Day on August 9th, you should plan to vote at your typical voting location.
