Dear Law Students,
Our Last Webinar of the Year
As 2019 comes to an end, we’re looking back in this webinar at our biggest legal victories for animals over the last year and looking ahead at what’s to come in 2020! Join Stephen Wells, executive director of the Animal Legal Defense Fund, as he shares stories behind this year’s biggest victories. In 2019, the Animal Legal Defense Fund set precedents to help captive animals using the Endangered Species Act, played an important role in passing new laws that will help protect animals in the future, and took on factory farming’s egregious abuses and practices. A brief Q&A will follow.
Get your chapter together to watch, and apply for a project grant for plant-based food for the event.
Congratulations Graduates!
Student chapter members graduating this semester can request a free graduation packet that includes an Animal Legal Defense Fund lapel pin, graduation cord, and application for a complimentary one year Animal Legal Defense Fund attorney membership.
If you’d like to stay involved in animal law after graduation, you can join the Animal Legal Defense Fund’s Pro Bono Program. The support of attorneys nationwide is integral to helping us protect the lives and advance the interests of animals through the legal system. Our Pro Bono Program is the nation’s largest pro bono network for animal protection and utilizes volunteers to support our litigation, criminal justice, and legislative goals. Volunteer attorneys can work on a variety of projects including research and citation checking, writing legal information guides, filing amicus briefs, and litigating cases.
