John Katko just proved that he is willing to do anything to appease the national Republicans bankrolling his re-election campaign. He just voted AGAINST restoring the signature accomplishment of the civil rights movement: the Voting Rights Act.

By voting against the VRA, John Katko voted to make it easier for states to suppress the votes of people of color.

John Katko’s vote today is a slap in the face to the civil rights leaders who dedicated their lives to fighting for justice. It’s a slap in the face to black and brown people across our district and our country. It's shameful.

We can replace John Katko with a bold, progressive woman who will fight to protect and expand voting rights for all Americans, but we need committed Democrats to step up right now to make it happen.
