In the days that followed, we've fought back in a major way.

We've amped up our campaign to get climate change legislation passed in the Senate — and it's working. Negotiators are back at the table with a real shot at getting a bill through in the next few weeks. We're looking at — potentially — hundreds of billions of dollars being invested in climate and clean energy.

In addition to the fights over West Virginia v. EPA and the climate bill, we're also looking at a real chance to put an end to all new offshore drilling leases along U.S. coasts.

A few weeks ago, the Biden administration outlined a preliminary five-year leasing plan that included up to 10 oil and gas leases off the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska coasts over the next five years.

The announcement was a reversal of a campaign promise to end the leases. But here's the thing: this plan is in no way final. Interior Secretary Haaland indicated that they're still seeking input, and we could end with no sales at all.

The climate bill. These offshore drilling leases. This is all going to come down to what the environmental movement does now.
